ACHDS and other news

Back after 1 month of vacations from the big city. The month in Sosua was o.k., I just didn’t get much work done of course. For one I had no real workspace, at Albert’s place I sat first on the floor with the computer on a chair and then I dug up a small table to put the PowerBook on, not really good but o.k. At Sylvie’s it was worse, I was sitting on the sofa with the computer on my lap (it’s a laptop after all but still) with the screen perfectly vertical in order not to loose the wireless connection. So I basically dragged a suitcase of books with me for nothing, but the first week back here I’m getting back into studying habits quickly.
I took the ACHDS exam on Monday and passed with 88/100. I could have done probably better if I had done all the excercises in the book, but it wouldn’t have made any change since it’s only pass/fail.
It was good to get finally an exam done since the others I have planned for this month are still being shuffled around.
I went to the CA embassy on Wednesday to see for the exams and was told that they can do it, but they have to contract someone to sit and watch me so they don’t know yet how much this would cost. At least I got the phone number of the person in charge so I can call and don’t have to go there to get more info.
The coming week I also need to check with the American-Dominican Institute how much they would charge me for a 3-hour exam.
I hope to get the necessary info to make a decision until end of the week so I can order the exams for Ethics and Astronomy.
