The Drama Continues…

After I had submitted all my assignments I waited a few days and since I had still no news from LSU about my exams, I wrote to them inquiring what is going on. First I got a reply that I’m missing a ton of assignments, then suddenly my old English grades showed up mixed with my new Geology grades, so I wrote back reminding them that I had actually reenrolled and the other assignments are still under my old enrollment numbers and to ask them to fix the mix-up in the grades. I didn’t get any reply for a week and resent the mail with an urgent request for a reply.
The answer I got to that was in the lines of ‘I have no idea what you are talking about, contact me.’ So I called (with Skype) and after a few phone-calls and some intensive hammering on the keyboards on their end, they sorted everything out. The bottom line was that assignment 5 for English was missing (because the tutor had made a mistake when she sent me instructions what to do after I had reenrolled) and they had lost my proctor info. So I submitted the assignment, filled in the proctor and called again to confirm that I had done all that. I was told that they’d send the exams the same day to ICDA who will be my proctor again.
Now I had just a bit over two weeks left to the final deadline. I wrote the ICDA to set up the exam dates and they write back this morning that they can offer me only two spots, 22 and 23 June, which are the last two days before the deadline. I got a bit upset and after a lot of showering and thinking, I went there and they can’t do anything for next week because they have some teachers conference going on. But they’ll either find someone to sit the exams with me so I can write them on 4 consecutive days or if this won’t work, I have to write them on the last two days before the deadline, one in the morning and one in the afternoon respectively.
Now the good part in the whole story is that I finally got myself to go the Alliance and talk to them if they can administer the exams. The person I talked to thinks that won’t be any problem, but I have to go back tomorrow and bring them a letter with my proposal. This won’t help me for my present misery, but if it works out I will at least not have to worry about that anymore in future. And it might also be quite a lot cheaper.
